Hello, hope you can help me.
I have a Back-UPS 700ES which has served my PC well. I recently acquired a Synology NAS drive. It strikes me that my NAS needs to be able to !!!!! down properly in the event of power failure much like my PC. Is it possible to use one UPS to serve both devices and have them power down?
Thank you

Hi,
We do not specifically support the shutdown of multiple devices from a single Back-UPS however it can be down. If you search posts (NAS as search term) on the site you will find other discussions. You could also look at using APCUPSD on the PC and sending a power down signal to the NAS. Another option posted by other members have post using PowerChute Personal Edition and the PC task scheduler to run a command file at power down. http://forums.apc.com/spaces/4/back-ups-surge-protectors/forums/general/7729/powerchute-personal-edi...
