Back-UPS instant battery power???

Bought the BN600G unit and hooked to my tv,satellite box, and soundbar.  My utility power flicks and goes off briefly all the time and I wanted to keep my Direct TV box from rebooting every time this happens. Hooked all of the above to the Backup battery outlets on the unit.  The power flicked off last night and my cable box did not maintain uninterrupted  power , which made it reboot .   I thought this unit would keep power constant during a power flicker or outage??

1.) You'll want to make sure your UPS has been able to charge for at least 24 hours. If the UPS has not charged up its battery fully since you got it, it is feasible that it did not have enough battery power to support the attached devices.

2.) I'd double check to make sure you plugged in your devices to the battery backup + surge outlets and not the surge protection only outlets mistakenly.

3.) This UPS outputs a step approximation to a sinewave versus a pure sinewave while on battery. Some pieces of equipment don't like this and your cable box may not be able to operate on this type of output. If items #1 and #2 check out, you may want to look into this further with DIRECTV potentially or do more testing if you can afford it - maybe simulating a power outage by pulling the UPS plug to see if the cable box stays on.
