No I did not get the batteries from APC, but I have tested them individually on my bench and they are fine. My old APC batteries that came with the unit are dead , nothing. The unit has been out of service for some time. couple years in the corner of the office with the other UPS that have died. Upon turning it on, the replace batter light comes on. When leaving the UPS on and unplugging it; anything connected to it immediately turns off.
After replacing the battery (ensuring its wired correctly as it has a sandwich plate that connects the two batteries), leaving the unit on for 24 hours and rebooting it, it now gives replace battery and overload lights. I was using a monitor as a load, so the overload light seems ominous. Rebooting/posted it several times, nothing. this old unit has a data port on the back looks like RJ45. So no way for me to connect it to my APC software that came with more recent UPS's.
So essentially power flows through the unit, but charging and discharging of the batteries seems broken. Any suggestions, seems a waste if I cant fix this. $50 for the batteries obviously, but the unit itself is more valuable to me than that.

I guess I will start telling my clients to buy Eaton or Liebert UPS's from now on, as the ONE time I ask APC for support (after literally 10's of thousands of dollars in referrals to APC since the 90's) what do I get? Crickets and tumbleweeds.
I am definitely the fool for ever recommending your mid grade failure prone crap. My bad. My server clients will now get Eaton's and my SMB clients will now get Liebert's. I used to sell truckloads of Asus motherboards as well and they pulled this kind of ignorance with me in 2004 and my clients now NEVER see the brand anywhere in their enterprises.
Well done and good luck APC
