It's important to note that there are several reasons why the UPS fan may operate. UPS is On Battery, Battery is Recharging from an On battery event, Unit's Load % or the Unit is Operating on AVR.

The components found within the unit all have life spans based on temperature. The unit's fan function is designed to keep the ambient internal temperature within a reasonable level to protect these internal components and prolong the life of the UPS. Failure to do so would lead to premature failure. That being said, there is no way to adjust the operating parameters of the fan.

To reduce fan operation it is recommended to allow for proper ventilation in and around the unit, adjust the operating parameters of the unit to reduce transfers to battery/AVR and ensure the ambient room temperature is at a reasonable level for electronic devices.
