Only a month old and had been working fine. Yesterday, I powered down the equipment attached to the surge/power backup receptacles, but left the UPS powered on. The attached equipment draws very little power based on the graphical readings on the unit. When I returned a few hours later, none of my attached equipment would power back up. The green light on the UPS was still on. I tried to turn off the UPS, but no matter how long I held the green lighted power button, it would not power down. Tried unplugging the unit and plugging back in. No change. Tried pressing the Circuit Breaker setting but no response. Finally unplugged the unit, removed all equipment plugged into the unit, opened batter area, unplugged red battery connector and plugged it back in. Put everything back and it finally worked. Today, everything worked as normal.
What happened? What were the the possible causes? I like the unit, but don't want to have to crawl under the desk and reconfigure everyting if this happens with any regularity. Anybody have an explanation? Since it's less than 30 days old, I'm tempted to return it.

I guess this must be a unique problem - 29 views, but no explanation for what may have caused my problem. By the way, I didn't return the unit and the problem has not repeated itself so far. Keeping my fingers crossed.

This behavior also happened on a BN1350M2 that is only a few months old. It was also unresponsive with a green light on, but no screen. it would not respond to button push. I had to disconnect mains power, then the battery. Since then it has been working like normal. I hope this generation of APCs is not a lemon

JeroL . . .
Since I didn't get any replies until yours, I ended up returning my UPS and replacing it with a CyberPower S175UC. Just didn't want to risk an ongoing problem after the return period had expired. No problems with the CyberPower unit so far.
