Back-UPS Pro BR1500GI runtime too low

This was originally posted on APC forums on 10/28/2011

My ups should have a 60 minutes runtime under 100 watts of load, but i`m getting only 32 minutes. I just bought it two days ago.

i will recommend you do like the "normal procedures" with cell phones, leave the ups running for a complete descharge, then leave it charging for 12 hours and after that try again, i also recommend you to install the powerchute software in order you can watch the whol behavior of the ups

APC knows about this but they continue to sell a product with many features that they can't achieve.

Think twice next time before buying an APC product 😉

Hi, thought I read in the FAQ that the UPS learns your load over time. That the runtime the first few days might not be accurate. There was a recalibrate procedure, but it seemed to eat into battery life.

The "recalibration" procedure didn't helped me, it only shortened the battery life.
