Back-UPS Pro 1000 No Power
Hi, new to this community as of today 🙂
I bought my Pro 1000 a few days ago and just got around to hooking it up last night. When i turned the unit on it was immediately chirping every 2 seconds or so and the battery indication on the LED screen was saying "empty". I thought maybe it needed charging so i unplugged all load from it and let it charge all night. This morning, same thing... didn't charge a lick overnight. I opened up the bottom of the 1000 and pulled out the battery. The battery was installed upside down and i ascertain this is shipped this way?
Anyways, i righted the ship, turned the battery over and now i get nothing. When i press the power button the LED screen flashes for a micro second and then goes black again. What do you think is going on? Could the battery leads be reversed (where they connect to the battery terminals)?
Thanks

Hi guys, I was able to solve the mystery. Here’s what I did.
Pulled battery out.
Put test leads across both battery leads.
Got 21v I think?
did the brain dead test with leads in place then turned on unit (battery out)
LED screen came alive then I reinserted the battery.
All is well now in my humble little studio 😎
I’d like to thank the guys who offered me help it is much appreciated... trust me. I look forward to visiting this site often. There seems to be some pretty smart dudes parked here
cheers
Rick

Hi Rick
Would you be able to take a picture of the battery connection, so we can advise whether it is the correct way round?
Regards
Matt
