Back-UPS ES 700 beeps during first charge

As soon as I plugged it in for its first charge, it started beeping (continuously) with the power on red led flashing.
If I push the power on button to turn it off, it stops.
Is it normal?

I would suggest letting it charge for 24 hours. What is the exact model # of this unit? It should be on the white sticker on the back of the unit.
