I have the Back-UPS ES 650 and until recently it's worked like a champ. But recently the battery side has ONLY be acting as a power plug. If I plug in only one device, something as simple as a 40w lamp, with nothing else plugged into the battery side then power off the UPS, the lamp immediately dies. As if there was no battery in place at all.
Several random mornings recently I've come into my home office to find the computer powered off. There wasn't any power outages or other issues with the power, and the alarm didn't kick off. In fact, if I unplug the UPS while things are still plugged in,it just dies immediately without any alarm.
The UPS is less than a year old, so I wouldn't think it would have crapped out already... right? Right?
Thanks in advance!
Jake

Jake,
I assume you have verified the battery is connected as the terminal COULD come loose, but is unlikely. If possible can you take a multimeter to the battery? After a year of operation the battery shouldn't be too discharged, if any, unless it was in an area with large power problems. It's possible that the relay between online and on battery operation has failed. I would check that, and then on Monday, contact Tech Support.
