I have an older APC ES 550 (BE550G on the sticker on the bottom).
The light shows green on "Power On" and no light on "Replace Battery". So it appears if the UPS is good. However it will not power anything if power is removed. It happened today after a breaker tripped. The UPS immediately started beeping and the PC turned off. It was the only thing plugged in to the UPS.
So it appears the battery is bad after all.
My question is do you think it will work again if I replace the battery? Or should I just replace the entire UPS?
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Hi John,
Just make sure your devices are plugged into the battery protected socket and not the surge protection only. As for replacing the unit, I don't think you'd save much by just replacing the battery and your not guaranteed that the unit will work afterwards so I'd say replace the unit.
