I am setting up a new BX1500M. The battery backup sockets are not powered. Surge-only sockets work as expected. For testing, the only thing that is plugged in is a AA/AAA battery charger. When plugged into a powered socket, it lights up battery status indicators. When plugged into a battery backup socket, the indicator lights are not turned on.
In PowerChute, the UPS status looks good: Remaining charge is 98%. Battery is currently Charging, Result of last manual self-test is Passed on 8/19/2024, Input Voltage is 122 volts.
I have tried unplugging the UPS from the wall socket and powering up the UPS. The AA/AAA battery charger indicator lights are dark. I do get the periodic beep indicating the UPS is in battery mode.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You may want to check sensitivity of UPS. The output voltage when on battery when UPS is on battery.
There are 120V and 230V versions of this unit you can determine by the output or by calling support and providing the exact models number and serial number of the UPS.
Here is the screen shot of the User guide on how to change the sensitivity and it also lists the voltage range of the UPS that works on 120V.
You may download the user guide on the UPS product page
here is the link for the BX1500M
If the UPS output is 120 then reduce the sensitivity just in case there are issues with input power
I recommend plugging the UPS directly to wall outlet rather than using a extension cord or surge protector which could cause voltage drops and cause the UPS to go on battery.
The UPS is mean to handle its own surge protection.
If the UPS has a 230V output replace it with a version made for North America which uses 120V.

Thank you for your reply. I called this in to tech support and they sent me a replacement unit. The new UPS works fine.
