I recently purchased by second Back-UPS BX1000G Unit in the past couple of years. According to what I see the older device {Serial 3B1029X58462} was manufactured 2010-07-18 and uses Firmware 869.L1 USB FW:L1. The newer device {Serial 3B1229X17283} was manufactured 2012-07-19 and uses Firmware 869.L3 USB FW:L3. I don't see or find the option to upgrade the older device to the newer firmware. I even wonder if there is need to? It runs fine. Anyone have knowledge or input on firmware versions for the Back-UPS BX1000G?

hello. my understanding is that these are not firmware upgradable (currently). if you were experiencing an issue that is fixed in the newer firmware and required an upgrade, i believe the entire unit would/could be replaced.
they make minor tweaks all of the time so unless there is a problem, i would not worry about it. worst case, tech support could maybe help you look into the differences between the firmware (like maybe it was a USB driver update).
