I use a Back-UPS BR900Gl with a computer connected to the Master outlet. To the "controlled by master" outlet, the monitor and loudspeakers are connected. I am using the UPS in the power-save mode. It worked fine for about 2 years, and now the "Controlled by Master" outlet is not stable switched on anymore, when I switch on the computer. I checked the mode, and the leave-sign is on. I calibrated the level a few times, but it doesn't help.
When I switch on the computer, the "Controlled by Master" outlet tries to switch on, but directly goes off again.
Are there other reasons why this could happen, or is the UPS having a defect?
Thanks in advance for any response.
With kind regards,
René

Hello SecretSquirrel,
Thank you for your answer and possible way to act. I tried the procedure you described.
I disengaged and re-engaged the functionality with the configuration, but that did not change anything. Then I disconnected all, removed the battery and pressed the on/off button for longer than 3-4 secs. I did not hear any click, but assume the action intended was performed with this. I re-installed the battery, plugged all the equipment back on and plug the unit into the wall-plug. Switched on the unit and put it on the green functionality.
Than it was ready for the test: Switching on the computer. But the "controlled by master" outlet gave power for less than a second or so (the led on the loudspeaker only blinked once) and the power was gone again.
So I am afraid that the "Controlled by Master" outlet is not operating correct anymore (=broken).
Or are there other suggestions to try?
I put the monitor and loudspeakers to a normal back-up-ed outlet, so it is secured but not switching of automatically anymore, when the computer is switched off. But in this way I can work with the computer.
Thanks anyway for the attempt to help me.
With kind regards,
René

Hi René,
This is certainly strange behavior from the unit. I would suggest first to try and disengage the "controlled by master" functionality of the unit and attempt to re-engage it's functionality with the same configuration. If this does not resolve the issue, I would then suggest you remove your connected load, turn the UPS off and unplug the UPS from the wall. Once off, remove the internal battery, press and hold the center on/off button for 3-4secs. You may hear a click from the unit, which is expected. Once you have performed these procedures, you should then reconnect the battery, plug the unit into the wall and turn it on with all equipment connected. Please try your green functionality again.
