I'm planning on purchasing a Back UPS 850 (BE850G2-UK) and wanted to check I'm understanding the operation of the mute button on it. The device will be in a house, so I don't want it beeping if the power drops for a seconds at night.
I've downloaded the User Guide which says:
The audible alarms of the Back-UPS can be muted. Press the MUTE button to enable or disable the mute function. The Mute status LED illuminates when the mute function is enabled
Could somebody confirm that once the button is pressed, the mute function stays enabled (ie no audible alarms) until you press the button again? I've seen UPSes previously where the mute / silence is just for the current alarm, so needs pressing every time there's an alarm.
Thanks!

Hi,
If mute has been enabled, the UPS will remain muted until the button is pressed again or until the UPS has been reset to defaults.
NOTE: When the UPS reaches the low battery state it will beep even if the UPS has been muted. This is by design to warn you that the UPS is about to cut power to the connected load.
