Back-UPS 800 flashes On-Line light and On-Battery light is on steady when powered ON. Finally settles On-Battery and green light goes out. AC power is steady and good. Load on the unit was about 200w or less. All load has now been removed and the unit acts the same. Reset switch hasn't/wasn't tripped. Battery was reported to be good by the PowerChute software and is about 1½ yrs old. We do have brief power outages and fluctuations here and it has always worked properly in the past. What's going on?

Hello,
Have you adjusted the sensitivity through the software? The problem sounds like either the UPS isn't recognizing AC power, or there is excessive harmonic distortion (electrical noise) on the line that the UPS is currently unable to filter. By lowering the sensitivity, it should eliminate electrical noise as a problem. However, extremely excessive harmonic distortion is always a possibility, even with the sensitivity set to Low.
