I have a back-ups 650es that is roughly 1 year old.
I've just installed power chute personal and the battery reports 0% charged, and few min ago I watched it drain down from about 3% to 0% and now it remains at 0%.
The software reports the battery is charging and input voltage is good at 117V, but the battery remains at 0% and the unit provides no protection. I've used the unit alot today as there were many outages due to a storm so I know the battery is good.
Please advise.

well, to begin, i would turn the UPS off and disconnect the battery completely and leave it out for a couple minutes and then reinstall it. this will reset the unit. I would then turn the UPS back on and restart the APC software to see if the issue still persists.
if you still see the same issue, i would try to check with another computer if you can just to make certain isnt something strange on the software side of it.
let us know how that works out if you can and we can proceed accordingly. 🙂
