Back UPS 1500 XS LCD... Shows 1 EVENT. What qualifies as an EVENT and how do I find out what it was?
I am running a MacPro but I am not sure if Power-chute will work with OS 10.4 (Tiger) or Leopard. Should I load it?
What is the latest version?

My MacPro recognizes the BACK UPS natively in OSX 10.4.11 but it does not give verbose explanations of events. I have heard that the Power-chute for MAC does not work properly on Intel Macs. Is this not correct?

i believe that is correct. furthermore, i believe native support for Mac provides the same exact options as Powerchute for Mac does and I dont think it includes keeping track of the TYPES of events mentioned above. i believe it just provides graceful shutdown which the native Mac support does as well.

An event on these units could be one of these things:
1 - Undervoltage
2 - Overvoltage
3 - Blackout
4 - Noise
To find out what event the unit is telling you, you should have installed the APC Powerchute Software on your PC and the USB Cable which comes with the unit must be connected.
I think you won't be able to retrieve the information of past events indicated by the unit, but the new events will be reported to the powerchute software.
And you ask something about the lastest version. Version of what are you refering to? The PowerChute software??

to build upon rau's response - its essentially the number of power events where the UPS has had to intervene. as mentioned, you'd need to install powerchute personal edition to find out what the specific events are. the LCD just records the number.
