My Back-UPS 1500 has been working flawlessly for a couple of years now, but, in the last three weeks, the computer cannot auto start at the prescribed time in the CMOS while connected to the UPS. It will work properly if plugged directly into the wall. The logs show no failures. Is this an indication of a problem with the UPS or should I be looking at a new Power supply in the computer or elsewhere? I would hate to stop using the UPS on a permanent basis, but it may become necessary for network operation.
The computer in question is a Dell XPS 8930 with Geforce 1000 video, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB SSD, Samsung 870 QVO 4TB, and OEM Blue Ray Optical drive.

I’m not clear how you’re actually testing this system and how everything is connected so will offer some basic guidance.
Computer: Have nothing connected to the computer system. While the system is on and running remove AC Mains from the wall outlet.
Wait ten seconds and apply power to the system. Does the computer restart as expected?!? Is the date and time in the BIOS correct?!?
Once the computer boots up and you log into the system is the date and time correct?!?
If all the above is fine and passes this basic test. Proceed to connect the computer to the UPS (Without the USB cable).
Remove AC Mains from the wall that powers the UPS. Let it run and shutdown by itself.
Apply power back to the UPS and let it recharge the cells to 100%. If the UPS turns back on or if you need to press the power button to the UPS do so.
Does the computer restart as before in the first test?!?
Let me know the results of both tests. 👍

I think I have solved the problem and I don't now think it is the UPS. The computer had been working when I plugged it into the wall outlet, but it failed to boot this morning. I had to push the BIST button on the power supply for several minutes to get it up and running, so I am 95% sure, at this time, that the power supply in the computer is failing.
Regarding your tests, yes, everything worked previously as I had performed those as you set forth. The only failure was the automatic boot at the set time. I am now setting up the system to run continuously until a new power supply arrives in two days. Thank you for your response. I was thinking that the power supply was the problem until I found that the computer would boot at the set time from the wall socket, but now I think the UPS is working properly and it's just that the power supply failure to boot was intermittent. If the problem is still there after a new power supply, I will re-evaluate, but I really don't expect that to happen based on what happened today.

Will do as soon as things are up and running again and I can test it fully.
