My unit, which I've had for about a year has done just fine until the other day. I got up to find my computer and everything off and the alarm sounding on the UPS. The overload light was lit. I unplugged everything from the unit, waited 15 minutes, then plugged the unit back in, plugged things back in one at a time and power was restored. Everything functioned as before until the next morning when I got up to discover the same thing. Repeated the previous process, restored power to my computer and peripherials, but only for about 30 seconds, then power went off again and UPS alarm was sounding. Now, the overload yellow light comes on, and the alarm continues to sound when ever the unit is plugged in. I have unplugged everything from the unit, and the unit still squeals. I finally managed to get it turned off. Turned it back on, the self test was successful, but then shortly after the unit went to green light, it started blaring again. Thinking the batteries might be bad I replaced them. Same thing happened. Restored power to everything for about 5 minutes, then back to squealing and no power. So, what is going on here?
Thanks for your help!
Becky

hi becky,
when you saw the overload LED on, was it solid or flashing? the overload LED should be red, not orange/amber. the on battery LED is orange/amber.
depending on what the LED was doing (solid or flashing), it can mean that the UPS has an internal fault of some sort (possibly took a surge or something as well) and will need to be replaced, under warranty if you just recently bought it.
if you can confirm if the overload LED was solid or flashing when you saw it, we can let you know.
