My battery for the BX900 only lasted less than a year. I am getting simultaneous "Overload" and "Replace Battery" alarms and unit rebooting. I have disconnected the unit. I am hesitant to have to replace the battery annually. It is not cost effective to protect the bulb on my projection TV.

The battery in the UPS should last 3-5 years depending on usage.
I'd like to note a couple of things though.
The combination of the overload LED and replace battery LED flashing at the same indicates an internal fault (not that the battery is dead) with the UPS so if your UPS is under warranty, you will want to call into tech support to get the UPS replaced. You can refer to this thread if need be.
If you want to make sure your UPS is in warranty, you can check [this link|http://www.apc.com/support/warcheck/] OR post the first couple digits of your serial number - for example XX0425 would mean that the unit was manufactured in the 25th week of 2004 and would be OUT of warranty. But if you just bought it a year ago and have a proof of purchase, APC will honor the warranty.
