BX1500M F02 and then Battery Flashing

My Back-UPS Pro BX1500M starting beeping and displayed the F02 error message. I disconnected all the loads, unplugged the unit, and then plugged it back in. At that point, the battery symbol was flashing, but not the battery replace symbol. I left it like that for several days, and nothing changed. I then removed the battery and measured the voltage which is 24 volts. I checked the connectors on the battery and the unit and all looked good. I then reinserted the battery. No change. Then turn the unit upside down and pounded the back of the battery several times. No change. So do I now need to replace just the battery, the whole unit, or is there some other problem?

Based on the limited information provided a F02 is a (On battery output short) or a problem with the RBC. The average RBC service life is 2-5 years based on usage, temperature, and environmental conditions.

The RBC is designed to provide 260 cycles before signs of degradation subject to the same caveats listed above.

If the system is connected to a computer running APC Power Chute Software (PCPE / PCSS) a more definitive answer may be given.

Provide the following information for review: Serial number, battery installation date / production date, Power Chute Data, Event, UPS Logs.

What does RBC stand for?

The computer and other units were connected to the UPS when the F02 message occured. I do not have it connected now when I just see the battery symbol flashing. Since nothing is connected, the load symbol shows no load.

I believe the UPS S/N is 3B2115X61892 per the sticker.

The battery came with the unit when order new on 12/3/2021.

The info sticker on the battery shows OM-10120E-001 and 3A2115X07795.

Where do I find "Power Chute Data, Event, UPS Logs"?

The abbreviation (RBC) stands for  Replacement Battery Cartridge. You can export the logs from Power Chute (PCSS) once it’s been installed and connected to the UPS and provide the same here.

You will need to create a APC / Schneider account before downloading a copy of PCSS.

Based on the serial number the RBC is four years old and likely needs to be replaced.

In the interim you may consider following the brain dead reset procedure as outlined in this APC FAQ and report back the outcome:
