I just bought a BX1500LCD and there was no CD in the box. Everything else was there and the unit appears to be working fine. Just no CD.
My main question is, should I be concerned? If the CD just got left out for some reason, that's one thing, but I'm wondering if this unit was actually bought by someone else and returned to the store (without the CD). I wasn't paying for a used UPS. So, has anyone heard of units being shipped out with no CD? I've tried searching the knowledgebase and these forums and didn't see anything about missing CD's.
Assuming that the missing CD is my only problem, the next question is, what's on the CD? What am I missing? Is it just the PowerChute software that I can d/l from APC, or was there something else? Hmm. If there is more on the CD, can I order a CD from APC?
Thanks.
James

I wouldn't be concerned about the CD not being there. It's just PowerChute Personal Edition, which I think is even version 1.5, and the norm for XP is up to 2.0. So you're not missing anything so long as you have the USB to RJ-45 communications cable.

You can request a CD if you like but the PowerChute Personal Edition software is available at the link below.
[Click here to view PowerChute Personal Edition Versions available|http://www.apcc.com/tools/download/index.cfm]
From that link, you can choose Software Upgrades - PowerChute Personal Edition, hit submit, and then choose the appropriate operating system.
This software provides a few additional features that Native Windows does not provide such as input voltage and reasons for why the unit transferred to battery. It also provides graceful shutdown options available in Windows (or whatever OS you are using).
