My BX1500G beeps twice every two seconds and an empty battery symbol flashes in-sync with the beeps. I removed the batteries, waited 30 minutes and reinstalled the batteries. This made no difference. It does this for as long as the unit is plugged into the wall and turned on. Anyone know what the cause of this is or what a solution might be?

I'm interested in the follow up to see if this solved your issue. I have the same thing going on with my backups pro 700.

Hi,
The battery voltage is to low or UPS is not recognizing the battery. Did you check the battery voltage? A good battery should read 27 - 27.5 volts DC.

21.01 volts. But couldn't that be because the BX1500G is not charging the batteries?

Hi Michael,
That could be the issue. It would be more likely that the battery has gone bad. Do you know how old the battery is. You should get 3 to 5 years of life before having to replace the battery.

It is certainly more than 5 years old. I'll look into replacing it and follow up with the results.
