My batteries finally went in the old one, I just replaced the old 7AH with some 9AH batteries.
My question is do I need to drain these down and charge them up to calibrate them?

a calibration is not always required. usually it is done once a year to let the UPS recalculate how much runtime is available based on battery age, battery health, load, etc
the UPS does this automatically anytime you have a power outage as well. unless the reported runtime is grossly inaccurate, i would just observe it overtime after you have a few power outages rather than wasting a deep discharge on the new battery.
i am not 100% sure how much of a difference you will see with 7AH versus 9AH on this particular UPS.
