BR700G clicking (on?) during lightning storm but other UPS aren't?
I own three APC UPS, they are as follows:
1.BGE70
2.BE550G
3.BR700G
Last night I had a lightning storm and and as I lay in bed I saw lightning strike outside and then immediately heard the BR700G audibly click and the LCD screen turn on and report an "event". I saw the lightning flash multiple times and heard it click directly thereafter each time. Each posted as an event.
Weird thing is, I did not hear the other UPS(s) click and the the BE550G did not report an event through powerchute.
Does the BR700G offer more protection or is it more sensitive? I was glad to have it protecting my more expensive electronics and was validated in using it for my more expensive stuff.
If the BR700G is of higher quality I will only be buying those or better from now on. Is this true?
On another note, I have an inverter generator that puts out a pure sine wave. That will work in conjunction with these UPS(s) right?
Thanks!
