What's the difference between the older BR1500MS and the new BR1500MS2?
Thx.

The important question that has NOT been answered is have you guys fixed the issue of well them blowing up/catching fire? Kind of an important buying determination. Specifically in regards to the newest model: BGM1500B
Thanks

Hi Aloke,
It seems very little has changed, I don't have the exact details but it's probably just a new SKU to account for a design change that does not impact the specifications.

Thx for the reply.
Does anyone from APC read this forum? They may be able to elaborate.
For now, Both are available, with the MS2 costing $25 more than MS.

Yes, and Gavan is a Schneider Electric employee.
To answer your initial question, the difference between the BR1500MS and BR1500MS2 is internal components and firmware. The features, i.e., output, and outlets remain the same.

I'll spring for the extra cost and get the MS2, assuming that newer is better.

At least one retailer (B&H) lists lower capacity batteries and less run time for the newer MS2 model... Is APC sneaking in lower capacity / cheaper quality batteries or does B&H have the specs listed incorrectly?

The flip side of "newer is better" is the trend to cut costs by cutting corners.
I'm afraid we'll never find out from APC.
Thx all for replying. I already bought the MS2 so the point is moot for me.

When compared to the BN1500M2 and BX1500M, the BR1500MS comes with a wider input voltage range for main operations, more battery charge power, more battery volt-amp-hour capacity, longer run time for load in addition to better coverage when it comes to lifetime equipment protection policy.
