Hi, I've just opened my BR1500G and plugged it in; power surge plugs work. I press the power button and the backlights for the buttons glow and that's about all it does. The battery was flipped as directed and the UPS is plugged in. I cannot even get the LCD screen to turn on.
Any ideas?

When you press the power button, try holding it for a second or so. There's a slight built in delay for turn on and turn off.
That said, I experienced the same sort of problem with an older Back-UPS XS 1500 model. I did some troubleshooting and traced it down to a voltage regulator that wasn't getting any power. I parted that unit out to repair others. It is APC/Schneider Electric's stance that these units are not field or end user serviceable. They are also hazardous to work on.
If yours is still under warranty, I'd call APC and let them replace it for you.

Hi Shane,
This sounds like the battery that shipped with the unit was sitting for a while and is now discharged. I would call our tech support line at 1-800-800-4272 to fully diagnose the issue and possibly get a new battery out to you.
Regards,
Mike
