BE850 Overload?
I just purchased (from APC Store through Amazon) an APC BE850 UPS for my entertainment system. Connected four devices into battery backup outlets (TV, receiver, set top box, Firecube). Intermittently, I get an alarm (steady tone, various duration from less than a second to a few seconds) and the light switches from green to amber. I assumed that this was an overload warning so I moved three of my devices to the surge protect only outlets, leaving only my tv on the UPS outlet but I am still getting an intermittent, annoying chirp/beep. This could occur several times an hour or several hours without issue. TV is an LG OLED77C3 which shows power consumption of 150 watts in the specs.
Is this truly an overload alarm? Is there any way to disable the annoying beep? Is this a defective UPS? Next steps? Thanks!
If your UPS has a data port to connect to a computer. Install the APC Power Chute software. There should be an option to adjust / mute the UPS based on different conditions. Regardless, once we know the exact UPS model better insight can be offered.
