BE750G not recognizing restoration of power

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and wanted to verify PCPE was operating correctly. I unplugged the UPS and everything operated as normal. I have it setup to shut down the PC after 4 minutes. Once this test was successful, I plugged the UPS back in. The unit continued to beep for another few minutes and eventually shut itself down. It quickly turned back on and everything was normal. I'm just wondering why it wouldn't recognize power was restored and it didn't need to run on battery power anymore. Seems annoying if power is lost and then restored, this unit will continue on battery power until it dies.

The computer did shutdown gracefully after four minutes. I plugged the UPS back in after the PC shutdown. The UPS then remained on for about another 3 minutes. It was still sounding the alarm signifying a loss of power. Then the UPS shutdown and started right back up. I'm using PCPE v2.2.

The following sequences occur in the event of power failure with Power Chute installed.

1. UPS goes to battery and PCPE starts its preserve battery power counter.

2. When the counter expires it sends a command to the UPS to start counting its turn off delay and then commands the OS to shutdown.

3. The operating system shuts down and the UPS continues to count its turn off delay.

4. The UPS cuts power to the outlets then rechecks to see if the incoming power is acceptable. If it is not it waits there until power returns.

5. If the UPS went to battery due to a brown out the unit at this point will be in LVSM until the voltage becomes acceptable again.

From these sequences, I study that the UPS may take 3 minutes of time to finish its turn off delay and then it will shutdown right after the turn off delay finishes. However, the UPS battery may not discharge during this period as the Computer was already shutdown gracefully.
