Hello,
I have had my BE750G for about a year and last night it woke me up emitting a tone, and my computer was off (I normally leave it in 24/7). I hit the master switch and the tone stopped. Today I tried to turn it back on and the green LED flashes and an indicator comes up of a red battery with an X over it. When I hover the mouse over the APC icon in the systray it says the battery is disconnected. I checked the battery and it is connected. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what might be causing this erroneous message and what I should do? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Is the red LED flashing and is the unit emitting a constant tone while it is doing that?
By any chance, is there a UPS on your end that might be using the same battery as what you have on your BE750G? If your UPS has a flashing red LED battery icon or could be a solid red LED, it indicates that the battery is disconnected and this could either be due to a bad battery or a faulty unit. A bad battery normally indicates an alternating green and red LED accompanied with a constant tone.

JonPro,
Yes, the red LED is flashing and the unit is emitting a constant tone at the same time. Unfortunately this is the only UPS that I have so I have nothing with which to troubleshoot with and swap out batteries. I don't know if it matters but the red battery icon/LED alternates with the green power LED when they are flashing. I also tried to run a self test but it gave the message that it couldn't be run at this time. Could this be a bad battery? And would it go bad all of a sudden like that? Thanks again for your help!
Steve

I contacted tech support and they told me I had a bad battery. They shipped me a new battery which arrived very quickly. I installed the new battery and have had no problems since.

I apologize if I was not able to reply back to your previous post. I was caught up with training, but I am happy that you were able to contact our Technical Support and got a new battery.
