I have a new BE750G to replace my old UPS and it doesnt provide backup across a power failure. It shuts off and gives a steady tone. I have removed it from the PC and put it on the bench. It is now providing backup for a 60 Watt light bulb and it still fails. No battery light on, the battery measures 13.8 volts. The only light that is on is the "master enable" light. To recover I have to turn the ES750 off and then back on again . It has turned itself off and everything connected to it even when there was no power failure. I went back to my Belkin750 and it is working fine. I wanted the APC BE750G for its ability to shut down things using the master controller. Anybody got any ideas??

Took the Battery completely out and measured noload voltage=13.5v. Hooked up a load while the meter was attached and over about 10 mins the voltage dropped to 12.9V. Does this seem acceptable?? At no time did the voltage drop suddenly, it just slowly decreased to the 12.9 level before I quit.
