Got my ES350 (SN: 3b0713x34455) a couple of month ago. Yesterday, finally there was a "chance" to test it and it failed. While the AC power was down, my computer was shut down right away apparent without any promised backup power. Out of curiocity, I pluged in my laptop to the unit with the provided software. The software said everything was ok, the beeping pattern - beeps every 30 sec was as expected according to manual, but the unit could not even power up my laptop converter, which was the only thing connected. Another symptom is the battery ran out 25% of its capacity over 2 min period though the unit had no power output. So, unit circuit problem or dead battery? I will contact Staples to see if I could get an exchange. Sending the unit back is a hassle and costly. I really should have tested the unit when I purchased it.

I brought the UPS back to staples yesterday. The CSR found out that the positive connnector to the battery was not all the way in. Although he had no idea why Powerchute reported nothign wrong, he suggested me to give it a try. After more than 24 hr of charging, the UPS does provide power now. It was my bad not double checking it when I assembled the UPS. Hope that is the problem.
Thank you, The Notorious .

So what you're saying is that upon immediate loss of power, the UPS cannot provide power or even indicate that it's on battery?
If that's the case, then I recommend contacting support and having the UPS replaced, since that is extremely abnormal.
