As of about 2-3 days ago my UPS has begun beeping (approximately every 4 seconds), but there are no lights indicating anything is wrong, and the UPS is capable of still powering anything I plug into it. Regardless of if anything is plugged into the UPS or not the beeping will still occur.
I have tried to dig through the forums to find an answer, but none of the solutions have worked yet. I've tried completely removing the battery and letting it sit before reassembling it in hopes that might work, I've tried adjusting the sensitivity levels, and I've tried different outlets.
When powering on the UPS it performs it's self test and then afterwards only the green light is lit (indicating a pass), but then I can hear the UPS' motor spin down about 10-30 seconds later and then the beeping begins. I've had this particular UPS for about 15 months, so I believe it's under warranty, but I want to believe that there is something I can still try before resorting to sending it in.
Any ideas on what happened to cause this or how to fix it?

would you call it a chirp versus a beep (a beep is the noise you hear when you unplug the UPS and it goes on battery - it beeps 4 times every 30 seconds)? when you remove the battery, you can try holding down the power button on the UPS to fully discharge the capacitors but that should already happen if you left the battery disconnected for more than 10 minutes or so.
other than that, theres really nothing else you can try that i can think of, especially if there are no LEDs flashing/on indicating a fault in conjunction with this noise. you can contact APC via phone or email for a replacement if you believe its under warranty and the noise is driving you nuts (which i can totally understand 😉 )
