What does the number (e.g., the "600" in an APC 600) signify?
Disregarding the power capabilities of the battery backup, is there a wattage maximum for surge protection?
Disregarding both battery backup & surge protection, is there a wattage maximum for simple power usage (e.g., number of watts the unit will safely pull to power several different peripherals)?
Thanks

600 would be the VA(volt amps) capacity. You may want to look at the below link if you have questions on the VA rating versus the watt rating.

As far as this would question, it may depend on the model #, Do you have a model # from the white sticker on the unit?
The capacity of the unit determines how much power can be used. Even if the circuit the back up is plugged into is rated for 15a, the UPS itself limits the amount or power it will output.
