Has anyone encountered an issue with the APV9602 NMC resetting to default on every power cycle of the NMC. We have had this on multiple occasions and have found the only fix to replace the nmc
UPS installed SMV750CAI
NMC: APV9602
MNC Firmware: 3.7.APC9602.APC.191211
We had the NMC operating fine holding a static IP and username & password, after a planned site outage for a few weeks the NMC now reverts to defaults every time static IP settings are applied (and performs its reboot) / network cable is removed including the username settings

If the hardware is still under APC Warranty I would recommend you contact their Technical Support for insight & guidance.
Regardless, a few things to consider and answer in no specific order of importance.
- Have you reset the NMC to a default state? Doing so will ensure there are no programming conflicts.
- LED Status: What are the LED color status when this problem occurs?
- DHCP Reservation: Have you tried to reserve the MAC Address for the IP to see if there is a difference in behaviour?
Logs: What do the logs show about the NMC and its operations? Do you see any cold reboots, watch dog errors, internal battery fault, NTP errors?
Testing: Once the NMC is in a default state using DHCP MAC Reservation. Create a new Admin account and validate you can login using those credentials. Change the APC password to something else.
Once that is done remove the NMC to replicate a power loss. Wait 60 seconds and inset the NMC and wait for it to reboot.
Once it’s online check to see if the two user accounts are present and accessible. If they are rinse and repeat the process by removing the NMC for a longer period from 10 - 60 minutes. If the two accounts are still accessible you can make all the network changes you require for proper operations.
If after making the same changes the NMC loses its stored programming you’ll need to identify the conflicts.
Start there and let me know what you observe. 👍

Hi,
I have the same problem with our APV9602 cards.
They are lossing the user configurations: static IP, password, ...
It seems they have some internal HW or SW issue.
I suppose more people in the world have the same problems with these SNMP agent cards.
Has Schneider R&D department some solution for this common issue?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Best regards.

Hi,
I've encountered the same issue in APC net cards.
They are lossing configurations and go to default values after power restart.
Do you know how to solve it?
Best regards.
Antonio.

Hi Antonio,
The closest thing to solving it I have had is to log into the GUI when it assigned to a DHCP address and perform a factory reset. After the factory reset I was able to change password and IP address and it held that information on reboot. The one I did this to survived a reboot a week later also.
