APC back-ups XS 1500

Hi guys, I'm a newbie, I have a problem with my pc, please help me to fix it. I have an APC back-ups XS 1500, it suddenly has a blank screen and lights up blue whenever I turn the screen on. The battery is pretty old because I have used it for over 5 years, could that be the cause?

What has a blank screen? The PC or the UPS? If it is the UPS, does the UPS provide output? If it the PC does the PC run if you plug directly into AC source?
