I have this item in the box - not open yet.
I have also come across same item but it is marked model BR900. I would like to know what are the differences (if any) between these two items? Am I missing something which is in BR900 but not in BX900?
Many thanks

Hello,
What I mean is that the BR has RJ45 connections to run your Ethernet cables through the UPS to keep them surge protected. The BX only has RJ11 DSL modem, phone, fax type dataline surge protection. The BR has both RJ11 and RJ45 dataline surge protection.
It all depends on what you're looking to do. If you need/want RJ45 dataline surge protection, then you would have to take the BR series. If your incoming AC power fluctuates frequently, then I'd recommend the BR line. The BX and BR are primarily the exact same UPS except for those features. The BR is considered "higher level" due to those 2 features, so for better overall protection, the BR is slightly more recommended.
Thanks.

Sgt.Slaughter,
I appreciate your detailed explanations of two main differences between BX900 & BR900. I will keep BX900 as I don't need dataline surge protection. Also, our incoming A/C power do not fluctuates frequently.
Many thanks for your help.

Hello,
There are only 3 major differences between the BR and BX units. First, the BX is considered a retail only UPS, which means you cannot get it off of our website. Second, the BR series has RJ45 Ethernet surge protection capabilities, while the BX does not. Finally, the BR has a boost and trim feature to correct under or over voltages, while the BX only has the boosting feature.
Hope this helps. Thanks.
