Hello,
I have a APC Smart UPS SRT 3000 remotly accessible through the https link (user webpage)
It is possible to turn the UPS into battery mode remotely through the https webpage ?
Indeed, I would like to do remote tests and I need to remotly turn the UPC into battery mode.
I looked a lot of time through the user web page but I don't find a way to be in battery mode. Maybe I'm just bad to find this 🙂
Thanks
G

It’s not very clear to me what you’re trying to achieve here given the obvious language barrier.
Regardless, the short answer is - No.
Having said this I’m going to assume you want to get a general idea of how the system operates while on battery only mode?!?
Im going to affirm anyone serious about their network infrastructure would be completing the following test while ON SITE!
Failure to understand this very basic concept and industry best practices relating to safety will result in a very bad outcome for you, the company, and attached hardware! ☝️
Having said all of this the following tests can be manually initiated to obtain basic information and operational state.
Self Test: This will cause the system to complete a POST. It will also complete a very crude load test to determine the battery health.
Runtime Calibration: This test must be performed with at least 30% attached load. Once initiated it will disconnect the system from AC Mains. It will continue to run on battery only mode until the defined runtime is met and than - stop.
This procedure will deplete the cells to a user defined threshold based on minutes left. This test is extremely tough on the battery cartridge (cells) and goes against the 260 (cycle life) of the cells.
Once the battery calibration has been completed the system will begin to recharge the battery cartridge.
If the battery cartridge is weak during the battery calibration process the system will immediately drop (disconnect) the attached load! 🤦♂️
So instead of a graceful shutdown of mission critical servers. They will be hard stopped and data corruption should be expected.
Lastly, you can adjust the upper and lower transfer voltage in the system. Doing so will cause the system to go into battery only mode if the input voltage is NOT within the user defined values.

The UPS is not used for an operational system or on a critical system. I'm not in an industrial context :). Unfortunately, the UPS is far too remote and without the possibility of having someone on site. My question is really limited to whether it's possible or not.
More context: The purpose of the test is not to test the UPS but a software function on a server connected to the UPS. To put it simply, this function must detect the switch to battery mode and then perform an action on the server once a certain battery threshold has been reached.
Thanks for your answers, I see that it's possible to switch to battery mode via these tests. The fact that you can cut the UPS output, and therefore switch off the server, is not a problem. The server switches back on automatically when the power comes back on.
