I just purchased a BackUPS BX900R that came with PowerChute Personal Edition. I really needed a Backups Solution that was going to log events in some sort of log. PowerChute Personal Edition doesn't appear to log any such events. For example, we are experiencing Blackouts during the day, and the PowerChute does show that Blackouts occur. However, I need to know the exact time of day that these events happen.
Anyway, I tried downloading the Business edition single node, but it doesn't recognize the BackUPS BX900R. Does anyone have a software solution that will work log events??

Massive necro, but at least with the 3.02 (2012?) version, all events are logged to Application events. But these power outages are only logged when the master PC is active, it may be with more expensive models that logging of actual power availability occurs internally.

May I know the version of the PCPE software and Operating System of the Computer?

Thanks for the quick response. Meanwhile, the version of PCPE doesn't have an Event log utility. I double checked the Program Files directory. Anyway, I don't understand how the software can be used to shutdown a computer, but it can't log a simple event. Oh well, I appreciate your help.

Dave,
Have you checked the PCPE 'Event Viewer' logs file? You can locate it normally in C Driver-->Program Files-->APC-->Event Viewer
I hope that the PCPE's Even Viewer will be useful for you.
For your information, the PCBE software will not work with this unit via the USB cable that came with it. The BX900R UPS uses Simple Signaling which does not provide an advanced monitoring details. However, APC does have Smart Signaling UPSs(E.g.,Smart UPS) which can provide an advanced monitoring features. Click here to know the differences between Simple and Smart Signaling.
