APC Performance SurgeArrest 11 Outlet-P11VNT3

Hi all,
I just bought one of these to connect to my new LCD HDTV. I noticed loss of audio on two channels and general video quality degradation.
Does anyone know the "insertion loss" of this surge protector, in terms of dB?
Thanks!
Tim

Thanks Techie for the speedy reply!
Do you think this would be a better choice? APC ProtectNet standalone surge protector for coax cable lines (CATV/DSS)
http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=PV

Basically, ever since I put the surge protector on my LCD HDTV, the picture quality has degraded and I don't have audio on two channels. I can deal with the poorer picture quality but would like to get the audio back on the two channels.
I would keep the SurgeArrest for electrical line protection but am wondering if I would be better off adding the coaxial protector from the item reference above, just for coaxial protection?
Thanks,
Tim

The P11VNT3 and PV products Insertion loss is same. So I do not think that a standalone surge protect net will fix the issue.

I am not sure if you read the K-base document which I mentioned earlier:

APC coax surge protection has an insertion loss of 2.3dB. If for example, the incoming signal was 2dB, when the surge protection device is installed the signal received would be 0dB. Therefore, the user would have no signal at his TV/modem.

Also you may want to check for a ground loop. In some cases the coax from the pole is fed to a junction box outside the house. If the technician grounded that junction box without connecting it to the house's earth ground it uses for power, it is possible that there may be electrons floating between the 2 separate grounds. This can be fixed by running a copper line from the junction box to the ground reference of the house. APC recommends that a certified electrician be contacted to do this.

If possible, could you please contact the TV signal supplier to find out if the signal strength can be increased and check if that makes difference?

I also leave this thread to other forum members opinion..
