APC ES 550 and ES 750 battary problems
I have an APC ES 750 that wouldn't charge. So I bought a replacement battery. According to the parachute software the battery didn't come with any charge and over the next 8 hours it fully charged the battery.
Then a few days later when the lights BLINKED the UPS didn't stay active long enough to last the BLINK! Then when I checked the battery charge it said 0% charged and said it was always charging but never charged.
I also replaced batteries in three ES 550. All of the ES 550 had been working fine but they all had not had batteries replaced in over 4 years so I guessed while I was replacing the ES 750 I would do them all.
We had a major 7 hour outage and all ES 550s worked fine but recharging after the fail is not going so well.
Two of the units have light 5W loads for just basic routers and a cordless phone system. The other has a 250W load running a small home server.
One of the ES 550 with a 5W load fully charged about 8 hours after power returned. (That is about what I would have expected.) The one with the 250W load and the other with the 5W load took about 20 hours to fully charge. And both took about 2 hours before they showed above 5% charged.
So after replacing 3 of the 4 UPS batteries only one UPS is working as I would expect and two are working but are very slow to charge and the other ES750 is just useless.
Anyone have any thoughts?
By the way if you have to do something to reset an ES 750 / 550 when you put in a battery I didn't do it. So hopefully someone can tell me I made a mistake. Also at no point even when the original ES 750 battery failed did the software or hardware show any type of fault.
All replacement batteries came from

They had great ratings on the batteries... But yet I know not APC factory batteries.
Any suggestions or you can or recommendations you can make would be welcome.

Thanks.
I agree and understand.
Would the load on a UPS (such as a 250w load on a es 550) impact the speed of charging?
Also a little odd to have the charging ability on 3 of 4 apc ups stop working or work poorly.
The only reason I did not get apc brand was the local dealer wanted more for the battery then buying a new ups at staples.ca.

Hello Joe,
I am sure that you are aware that our stand is for the customer to use batteries that came from us. To assist you with the problem that you are encountering, I am thinking that it has something to do with the UPS. It looks like that charger is not working as it should.
