APC CS-500 - 100% dead
The UPS is almost 20 years old and 100% dead. Nothing happens when I push the power button. Will it behave like this when the battery is dead? It has been in storage for 10 years.
Battery is 0V. Tested to fill new water and charge it with a car battery. Think I need a "stupid" charger that force current and amps into the battery.
Or will the UPS work if I get a replacement battery?
I have little electric knowledge but dont want to open the unit before I know more. Something to look after? Component to replace that is common that causes this problem?
