*{color:#000000}I have bought a APC BackUPS 600 RS in February 2011.*
I have connected my CPU(P4) & Monitor to the back terminals. When i switch on the main supply & press 'ON' button, there is 1 beep & then Flashing for approx. 8 seconds. After 8secs., there is a knock sound & flashing stops, thereafter the UPS works fine. Does the initial flashing indicate problem in supply during starting?
Also, when i press the 'ON' button of the UPS, my PC starts immediatly (without the need to press the power button on the front panel of the PC Cabinet)? Is this a problem in the PC or UPS?
*Please HELP...!!!{color}*

Hello.
Whenever you turn the UPS on it performs a procedure that we call as self-test. This procedure is repeated every 14 days to ensure that the battery is fine, if there is a problem with the battery you will see a failed self-test indicator. With regards to the PC automatically turning on when you turn the UPS on, it might have something to do with the BIOS setting of your PC.
Below is an APC KBase that I hope could help you out
