Hello,
I am using a new APC Back Ups Pro 1000 (600W/1000VA.) An ASDL modem was connected to the unit (new phone cord that has been tested good.) Power chute software has not been installed on the PC yet. Shortly after hooking up the modem into the in/out ethernet surge protection slots, incoming phone calls would produce one ring on house hold phones (wireless VTech Dect 6 with base unit connected to line in another room) and the callers would be disconnected (ie the line would go silent.) Outgoing phone calls were not affected and the modem performed to expectations. After contacting a phone company repair tech the issue with incoming calls was traced to the new ups unit. Normal household phone useage was restored by disconnecting the modem from the back up unit and relying on a direct connection to the wall outlet.
I would like to protect my modem and lines using the back ups but I don't know what I am dealing with here. Is there a way around this issue? Am I dealing with a faulty back ups? A configuration issue? Why is it interfering with phone calls?
Your help and advice is appreciated. 🙂

"That just tells you Syracuse wasn't that Griffey Shoes good," Barkley retorted. There will probably be people Air Jordan Heels who agree with Barkley that only eight Big East teams belonged in the NCAA tournament Ken Griffey Shoes as a result of the conference's awful showing, but the truth is the league simply performed well below Air Max 24 7 expectations in single-elimination format. Based on their season-long body of work, it would have been very difficult to justify leaving Nike Air Yeezy out Connecticut, Villanova or Marquette, the teams that finished ninth, 10th and 11th in the Big East regular-season standings. Even Nike Dunk Heels though he had the more logical argument, Pitino didn't exactly help himself when he looked straight into the camera and guaranteed "Notre Dame will not lose" Sunday night against Florida State. The lesson here: Never pin your TV credibility to Notre Dame in the NCAA tournament and never argue with Barkley even when you're right.

Looking on the product itself as well as on the technical specification and page number 2 of the user manual, the product that you have BR1000G only offers Network/Ethernet and Coax protection.

hmm i am not 100% sure on this. i wonder if its because something requires "bi-directional communication" like on coaxial cable lines.
can the phone company provide any info on how their modem communications and any details about the type of communication/signals provided by this service?

The best answer I could get was that communication and modem protocols met DSL / ADSL industry standards. I've made no headway in gaining phone functionality with modem connected to the unit's ethernet ports.
I attempted to intall the latest version of power chute software. The back ups unit was detected 50% of the time by the software during a series of self tests. Cable connection from unit to PC was repeatedly checked. It would fade in and out of connection during daily use. PC USB port tested fine with other divices. I uninstalled power chute and removed the serial to usb cable from the unit.
I admit a degree of frustration with the product. 🙂
