Hello,
I just got the APC Back-UPS CS 650 to connect my NAS drives to it, two Synology DS212j, anyway, everything seems to be working fine but when I connect the UPS via USB, the software tells me the battery is not connected and the red LED keeps flashing, but when I unplug the power cord from the wall it then says "Battery connected" and the flashing stops.
Battery is working fine but for some reason it doesn't detect it when the UPS is plugged in, anyone know why is that happening?
I left it charging as instructed for 8 hours, however, I didn't turn it on when it was charging so I'm not really sure if that worked, I just plugged it in, waited 8 hours and this whole thing happen. Do I need to charge it while it's "online" and after it's charged that flashing will go away?
Any help would be appreciated.
Note:
No devices are connected to the UPS yet.
Regards.

I'll definitely see if a return is possible, though I doubt it, in short I was in Kuwait last month and bought the UPS from there, and now I'm in Egypt. Both countries have distributors or just retailers, I doubt I'll have any luck with a return.
Could it be just a battery replacement issue?

I don't think the battery is working, to be honest I'm not sure what's wrong.

did it ever work properly? or is it brand new? it does sound like an issue with the UPS itself if you pull the plug and the UPS supports the load on battery.

It's brand new, and what's worse is that if it is a problem with UPS itself I can't return it, I bought it from a different country. Sigh.

well i think depending on which countries, you should be able to get a warranty replacement via support.
