APC BX1500LCD Shutdown Problem

I have a APC BX1500LCD. Which runs my security camera system. If I connect the USB cable to my Windows 10 computer and run the Powerchute Personal Edition 3.0.2 after a while the APC will shutdown and beep. The only way I can get it to reset is to remove the battery for a short time. If I don't hook up the USB cable everything operates fine. Before it shuts down I can run the self test and everything passes fine. I also have another APC UPS that runs another computer that it's connected to and there is no problem like this on that system. Any Help?

I tried your instructions and the unit did not shut down. I installed Power chute again and lets see what happens.

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience. I suggest uninstalling PCPE from the system, re-enable native shutdown (see Schneider Electric FAQs FA159743 and FA159653) then reconnect the USB cable and monitor to see if the UPS shuts down. If it does then the issue is with the USB comm.

Also, you should look in the system log for PowerChute events that may explain why the system has been powered down. You will find the information by going to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer,  Windows Logs, Application. You will find APC UPS Service entries and APC Data Service entries. The APC UPS Service entries will list power events.

Bill I shutdown my Widows 10 PC at night. Sometime during the night about 01:00 the UPS shuts down. The only way to start it back up is to remove the battery for a short then it will reset. The UPS runs my Lorex camera system and is monitored by the Windows 10 PC which is not attached to that UPS only by comm cable.
