Hi all,
first of all, sorry for my english 🙂
in 2015 I bought on Amazon a BX1400U-GR that worked fine until now, except for te fact that, regardless of the load, it shut down after about 10 minutes of beeping and I expected it to last more, especially if it was supplying just a Qnap NAS that consumes about 18W.
Today, suddenly the light went out and the UPS started beeping red/green lights as in the title. After I recovered the light, switched off and on the UPS and it started again to flash both red/green lights without allowing me to power on PC or any other device connected to it.
Now, the batteries should be replaced every 3 years, but it seems clear that the light went out due to the UPS and not the opposite. When I bought the UPS, I supposed that after this time the battery light would turn on and just advice me that I should replace the battery, giving me the time to replace it, I didn't imagine that the UPS would have stopped working at all.
Now I would replace batteries, but in the "Battery Replace" section on APC website it can't find batteries for my BX1400U-GR but just for BX1400U-MS version (battery model is RBC113). I disassembled my UPS to check that batteries are the same, but they've no model number written on the label.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Francesco

Hi Tom,
I followed your instructions. At the pressure of the Power button i heard a sort of "clack", then reconnected battery but unfortunately nothing has changed: when connected to electricity It started beeping continously again, flashing red/Green lights alternatively.
Thanks anyway for your help
Francesco

Hi Francesco,
Can you please try to brain dead the UPS. To do this:
1: Disconnect any attached load.
2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery.
4: Push and hold the ""On"" button on the UPS for 5 seconds
5: Reconnect internal battery.
6: Plug UPS in to known good power source.
7: Turn UPS on.
Regarding replacing the battery, the battery in the BX1400U-GR is not user replaceable.
Regards,
Tom

Hi Tom and thank you for your reply.
Now I'm away, I'll try your suggestions as soon as I return home.
For the battery replacement, I'm so sorry it's not possible to replace it by myself, I didn't know it when I bought it. Anyway thanks for the info.
Regards,
Francesco
