I have purchased 2 of these units and I am wondering when the power goes off and sounds an alarm is there a way to turn this off? So that when power is lost the UPS will not have an audible alert?

Yes, you can do this.
Instructions here via the UPS front LCD -> http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/EALN-7V5MXA/EALN-7V5MXA_R1_EN.pdf
You can also do it via PowerChute Personal Edition if you had installed that.
