I had a power outage on 12/22 and my APC BE350R simply shut off. No battery time or warning.
When I re-started, the Power On green light burns steady.
PowerChute windows show everything running OK:
Last transfer to battery shows 11/22/08.
Why isn't my battery kicking in?

Update - I just tried unplugging it again. Only the TiVo was on (standby mode).
The TiVo lights stayed on, and UPS beeped. I powered up the computer, and within 30 seconds, the UPS dropped power altogether. It should be fully charged, plugged in for over a week. (sorry for the double postings, now I see edit is active,)

What is the serial # on this UPS and when was the last time you changed the battery?
Just to clarify, this was an immediate shutdown? No delay whatsoever between the power being cut and the UPS turning off?
Could you try plugging in a non-critical load, such as a lamp, to a "battery backup" outlet and see if the unit will support the lamp load when turned on and disconnected from the wall? During this test please disconnect the PowerChute communication cable that is plugged into your computer from the UPS.

I just bought 2 of these and am having issues as well.
Of the three lights, only the top one is lit, I assume that's good.
Even though I am plugged in to the backup outlets, there is no backup time at all when I unplug it.
Now - here's the odd thing. Last night both units dropped out at exactly the same time, they are in different rooms, different circuits, and everything plugged in to them lost power. Nothing else in the house went out.
I don't see any application (I am on a Mac) to see the health page as the previous poster did on a PC. I installed the software and onll can see the preference to shut the Mac down after so many minutes.
Any ideas?
Joe
