I have two APC 900 SX ups's which seem to be dead. No lights come on. No response to on/off button. Nothing. Were these blown out in a a surge? Is there any way to revive them? The surge only outlets are live, but nothing else responds...

Thanks. I've ordered a new battery pair and I'll give it a test.

Donald,
Please verify the model of the UPS and provide the serial number. The both can be found on a bar code sticker on the back or bottom of the UPS.
In most cases if the battery outlets do not provide power but the surge outlets do the battery/s are discharged.

I think this might be one of the "unique" Back-UPS models that requires a good battery in order to start up. (I seem to remember my very similar looking BK800 wouldn't power up when its batteries were worn out.) Ordinarily that would only apply to the Smart-UPS line, but there are some Back-UPS models that are the same way.
